What is credit repair?
Credit repair is a legal process of restoring a consumer’s credit rating by eliminating erroneous and non validated negative marks of the credit reports.
This is done in accordance with federal laws and regulations like: The Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Will credit repair improve my credit score?
Every time a negative mark is deleted from the consumer’s credit report the credit score will improve. There are several ways to improve the credit score besides deleting negative items which are part of the credit education program.

What processes are involved in credit repair?
True credit repair is not a “quick fix credit” program. Inexpensive internet companies send form letters to the credit bureaus that the consumer could do on his/her own free of charge. This process does not bring the needed results since the original creditors could report the item again, which would result in the consumer facing the same bad credit problems all over again. Many times trying to get a refund from these companies is impossible since many of them are not legal and consequently not accountable.

A legal credit repair company needs to have a $10,000 surety bond, and be registered with the Secretary of State. Additionally, a 3 day cancellation period in the contract is required.

The credit repair process involves auditing the credit bureaus, auditing the original creditors through certified mail, stopping the creditors from harassing the client with cease and desist letters, and working out settlements on the few remaining items.

How long does the credit repair process take?
The process is no longer than 180 days, and the first batch of results should arrive within 30-45 days.

What credit reporting agencies are included?
In order to obtain results of professional quality, all three major credit reporting agencies are included: Experian, Trans Union and Equifax.

How many adverse credit accounts are included?
All adverse credit accounts should be investigated, furthermore addressing aliases, previous addresses, and inquiries, enabling the consumer to obtain a clean and professional credit portfolio.
